childhood
Surya was born as a fifth child on 25th of June, 1971. Being born in a Hindu Brahmin family, surya was a of very religious nature since his early childhood. In his teenage, in his honest efforts to imitate his favorite god Shiva, he starts using hasish. What he started as a means of devotion to his god becomes his habit. Later on, when he reliases how bad the habit was. When his parents, teachers and relatives began criticising his habit, he gets upset with the god he so sincerely tried to follow. Thus, in his teenage, he loses his faith on his religion and claims to be an atheist.

Pastor Surya was married on 25th of June 1994. He is blessed with two kids, Susanna & Michael.
New-birth
Born again in 1989.
He accepted Jesus as his Lord and saviour and he was no more the same. Jesus changed his life for good !
He commits his life to Jesus and his service. He prays, "God, I am nothing. I have no education. I have no skills. I have no riches. People say I am good for nothing. I come to you as I am "nothing" and ask you to use me for your work if you can. You have given me knew life and hope. And I give my life to you and I promise to serve you all my life."
His coversion and commitment to Jesus costs him his family and friends. His family kicked him out of his family and he started living with his elder brother who was then a pastor in Kathmandu. His elder brother had also been kicked out of his family upon his conversion.

Even after moving to Pokhara, Rev. Surya continued to work for Himalayan mission, Inc. He also went to south Korea and earned his Master of Divinity from ACTS.
Along with his pastoral ministry, he also serves as a deputy president of Jesus College and deputy bishop of all the churches under Himalayan Mission, Inc.
He has always been a fervent preacher/teacher of God's word. And he simply loves to win the lost souls...
education
Soon after he commited his life to Christ, Surya enrolled himself to an informal theological education program at his church. He learnt and served under his senior pastor. He faithfully learnt God's word and helped his senior pastor in his ministry. When he was just one month old in his spiritual life, he was already preaching in house churches and presiding worship services, and leading outreach groups.
